Four lists about the Oriundi and Naturalized players in Azzurro showing their Appearances, Goals and Captained Games together with all the Oriundi who played with two National Teams
LEGEND: Nr.of Games, Surname, Name, Position, Date of Debute, Club, Games from Club, Oriundo: Home country.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: GK - Goalkeeper, DF - Defender, MF - Midfielder, AT - Attacker.

DESCRIPTION OF CITIZENSHIP AND REPRESENTATION: Citizenship and Nationality is the legal status of a person with a nation, obtained either automatically by being born in that nation or by acquisition after satisfying certain obligations. Such obligations vary from country to another, but normally a person must either have lived in that country for a number of pre-set years or become legaly married to a citizen from that country or have a direct ancestry through his parents or grandparents from that country owing to the 'jus sanguinis', meaning the 'right of blood'. Some countries require a mixture of these two or three obligations mentioned above. Dual citizenship is possible when a person is a citizen of two countries at the same time, because he was born in a country but qualify through acquisition for the citizenship of another. Since its inception in 1905, FIFA requires football players to be a citizen of the country they are representing by playing in its National Team or has direct ancestral ties with the same country that would lead to citizenship. In 1964 FIFA ruled that a player could not represent more than one country in his career. However, an exception is granted to players who have dual citizenship, whereby a player can change his representation from one National Team to another if he has not played a competitive match in the same category (Under 17, Under 21, Senior, etc) with his original National Team. This can be done only after applying and obtaining permission from FIFA.

DESCRIPTION OF ORIUNDI: Oriundo is an Italian word (coming from the Spanish language meaning 'originally from') used both in Italy and Spain to describe an immigrant of native ancestry. It is generally used for football players with dual citizenship who were born in another county but to parents whose ancestors had emigrated from Italy years before and have now immigrated back to Italy. Thus, Oriundi players qualify easily to represent their ancestral country (Italy) rather than their native country (where they were born) when playing with a national team. This was widely used between the 1920's and 1960's by Italy and Spain, but in the last thirty years it is also widely used by other countries that have a long history of colonization, like England, Netherlands, France and Portugal (although these players are not always called Oriundi in these countries). The word Oriundi started to be used in the 1950's, before, these players were called 'Rimpatriati', meaning 'repatriated persons'. In pre-World War II Italy, the Oriundi had automatic dual citizenship, thus making it very easy for them to play with the Azzurri. Immigrants not of Italian ancestry and native Italians who happen to be born abroad are not considered Oriundi. An Oriundo player is not called an Italian player but Italo + the name of their native country, example Italo-Argentine or Italo-Brazilian.

Players in RED are Naturalized players.
DESCRIPTION OF NATURALIZED: A Naturalized player was not born in Italy but acquired his Italian citizenship and nationality after a minimum of five years in residence in Italy or is legaly married to an Italian citizen, thus having dual citizenship. Today naturalization is widely being used by a lot of countries who have a high volume of immigration like Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium and Sweden. Immigrants of Italian ancestry or extraction (one of the parents or grandparents is Italian), children of immigrants who are born in Italy and native Italians who happen to be born abroad are not considered Naturalized citizens. Naturalized players, like the Oriundi are not called Italian players but Italo + the name of their native country, example Italo-Argentine or Italo-Brazilian. One most point out that although totally different, Naturalized players are sometimes also called Oriundi in everyday talk in Italy.
